                        30/03/11

Directors appointed to take top communications firm towards new era

Caroline Holmes, Daniel Tyte and Sara Robinson, all previously account directors with the Cardiff-based firm, have become directors of the business in a move designed to lay the groundwork for its long-term future.

Newly appointed Working Word directors from left: Caroline Holmes, Daniel Tyte and Sara Robinson.

The trio will play the key role in broadening the firm’s traditional public relations offering to encompass a much wider spectrum of marketing services and digital communications.

All three have broad experience of the communications field, having worked previously in prominent PR and marketing agencies or high-profile in-house roles.

Working Word managing director, Eoghan Mortell, described the appointments as: “the most significant development in the 12-year history of the business.”

“The communications industry is going through a period of major change and opportunity and we have ambitious plans to grow the business and bring exciting new services to the market. For that we need to strengthen the leadership team and we were lucky to have the services of three very talented, innovative and committed individuals who can take the business forward,” he said.

Working Word’s recent year-end figures for 2009-10 showed an increase of more than 20% in fee income over 2008-09, despite a sluggish marketplace, caused by economic slowdown.

The agency has one of the largest PR teams in Wales with 15 staff, and it has been named as Outstanding Consultancy of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Wales for two out of the past three years.
