                        25/01/11

New year, new office for Cardiff law firm & consultancy

Law firm Capital Law is marking the new year by announcing plans to move to a larger 20,000 square foot central Cardiff headquarters.

The move will see the firm take over Atlantic House East (former Peacocks HQ) on Tyndall Street, chosen for its convenient city location and for its refurbishment potential.

Atlantic House East, situated close to the Queen Street Station and St. David’s will offer Capital Law 50% more square footage and the ability to completely transform the offices to suit its working practices and culture.

Chris Nott, Senior Partner at Capital Law, said:

“The growth we’ve seen over the last few years has made us much more than a law firm.  While our legal expertise remains unrivalled, we’re continually looking at ways to expand on the breadth and depth of services we offer our clients. We’ve done this through acquiring and expanding our HR, training and other consultancies and, as a result, we have simply outgrown our current location.”

Based since June 2006 at One Caspian Point in Cardiff Bay, Capital Law started looking for a new premises 18 months ago, seeking more space to accommodate ambitious medium-term growth plans.

Atlantic House East will now undergo extensive refurbishment to create a vibrant, open-plan space in line with the firm’s brand and specifications.

The move will see the company’s 100 employees expand across five floors. The finished office will feature new kitchens and a café area, on-site training facilities and occupational health consulting rooms.  Locker rooms with showers and secure bike parking will also be available, supporting the firm’s staff well-being and cycle-to-work schemes.

                         Chris Nott continued:

“When we set out to find a new office space, we were looking for either a new build that we could influence from the start, or somewhere that would be refurbished before we take residence, and we have the latter with Atlantic House East.  We’re really excited about the opportunity to work with our interior designers, Witchell Associates, to create a space that fits the Capital Law image and ethos.

“To reflect our brand personality, we will be transforming the building into a modern, inspiring and colourful workspace for our colleagues and an impressive and well-equipped meeting place for clients and corporate partners. We want our people to enjoy the time they spend in the office and for there to be plenty of light and oxygen- both literally and metaphorically- to inspire and feed their ideas.”

Capital Law will remain in its current Cardiff Bay office until the official move at the end of May.
