A Cardiff-based communications agency has strengthened its award-winning team, with two new recruits.
Sophie Spooner (26) and Myrrh Fletcher (29) have assumed the roles of account managers at city-centre-based Working Word.
They will be responsible for strategising and delivering PR and communications plans for a diverse client base. Their roles will include strengthening existing client relationships as well as developing new ones.
Sophie joined Working Word after three and a half years at a Buckinghamshire consumer technology-focused PR agency. Recently relocating to Cardiff, she has extensive experience in telecoms, consumer and B2B sectors.
Sophie has an excellent track record of securing national broadcast and print coverage for clients and has successfully launched a number of products into the UK market, including one launched purely with online social media tools.
Myrrh has a diverse PR background, working in both the sport and financial sectors and with a number of well-known brands. Relocating from Southampton to Abergavenny, Myrrh managed PR, communication and sponsorship campaigns for a number of high-profile sailing events and teams before taking up an in-house role at one of the UK’s leading financial services providers.
Myrrh said: “Working Word has a strong reputation across Wales for offering clients a comprehensive range of services from traditional media relations to social media campaigns. It’s great to be joining a PR company with the vision to adapt and develop the services it offers to clients.”
Sophie adds: “This is a fantastic opportunity. I am really looking forward to joining the team and helping to continue drive the business forward."
Formed in 1999, Working Word has grown over the past decade to become one of the largest PR consultancies in Wales. The firm has won more Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Pride Awards than any other agency in Britain and recently secured a prestigious CIPR UK Excellence Award for its work on the S4C digital switchover campaign as well as being named CIPR Cymru Wales Outstanding PR Consultancy of the Year 2010-2011.
Eoghan Mortell, Managing Director of Working Word said: “On the back of another successful year in which our business continued to enjoy year on year growth, we are delighted to welcome Sophie and Myrrh to the team. Both bring a diverse and distinct skill set that will further enhance our team and strengthen the service we offer clients.”
