                        23/09/10

New partnership set to help south Wales economy prosper

A Newport-based health cash plan provider, Gwent Hospitals Contributory Fund (GHCF), has become a strategic partner of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce.

The new partnership will enter GHCF into new regions across south Wales and drive forward its ambitious targets to increase its membership by 20% in 2010/11.

GHCF provides bespoke healthcare plans for businesses and individuals, and the partnership will see Chamber members eligible for the exclusive Chamber Scheme.

The South Wales Chamber of Commerce is run by local businesses to support and guide organisations in south Wales. The Newport-based health cash plan provider aims to offer local businesses a low cost alternative to healthcare, while keeping capital in Wales.

Chief executive of GHCF, Andy Wilkins, said: “We’re really excited about the opportunities a partnership with such a prestigious organisation will bring our business.

“Healthcare provision can be a business critical service so choosing a professional and reliable partner is essential for peace-of-mind.  Chamber members who work with us have the reassurance of working with a local, accessible partner.

“A health cash plan can significantly boost a company’s benefits package and make it more attractive to new staff, as well as helping retain current employees.”

A health cash plan allows members to claim back money spent on routine medical treatments, including visits to the optician and dentist.
