UHY Peacheys celebrates over a decade of investing in people
UHY Peacheys has achieved Investors in People (IIP) status for over 10 years, as it announces it is on track to achieve a target of a £2m turnover by 2011.
Based in Newport, the company is now one of only 3,000 businesses in the UK to have had IIP status for over 10 years, having first received the accolade in 1998.
Their accreditation will be due for renewal in 2011.
UHY Peacheys' long-term affiliation with IIP demonstrates a continued commitment to improving business practice and to the development and progression of its staff.
IIP advisor to UHY Peacheys, Alan Williams, said: “Investors in People has been developed over 18 years as a means of helping organisations transform their business performance. UHY Peacheys has displayed a long standing commitment to these principles and as a result they have remained resilient to changing economic changes and circumstances. They deserve to be congratulated for their unwavering dedication to the high standards that are exemplified by IIP.”
UHY Peacheys employs 40 staff at its offices in Newport and Abergavenny. The company’s commitment to its employees includes two away days every year, when the team have the opportunity to get away from the office and participate in fun activities such as self defence, team quizzes and have a chance to participate in discussions about the company’s future development.
Paul Byett, managing partner at UHY Peacheys, said: “We are delighted to have retained IIP for over 10 years. The company has a long 80 year history of providing a quality service and our ethos of putting our staff and clients first has remained the same.
“Over the past two years we have grown substantially, despite the recession. We have seen our turnover increase by 23 per cent during this time and we continue to attract top talent, with eight new appointments in the past 12 months. We understand that our people are the lynchpins of our business and it’s important we maintain the investment in them in order for us to be successful.
UHY Peacheys joined the national UHY Hacker Young Group in 2009 to expand its offering across south Wales.
