                          SCS Group

The firm, which supplies mechanical and electrical contractors with smoke control and ventilation solutions for residential, commercial, retail, educational and leisure developments across the UK, has been shortlisted in the Fire Protection Specialist category of the Construction News Specialists Awards. The firm previously scooped the award in 2008 and 2005.

The SCS Group, which was established in 1992 and is based in Tredomen, south Wales, has installed its systems in thousands of buildings nationwide. Recent projects include Westfield London, Europe's biggest indoor shopping centre and Crossharbour, a major development of 900 apartments in Canary Wharf. The firm has a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Dorset and a national network of fully qualified project engineers.

                          Managing Director Allan Meek said:
"We are honoured to be shortlisted for these awards as it's a great showcase for our unrivalled service, expertise and value for money. We forge long term relationships with our customers and once they have tried us they like to stay with us, so we have grown through lots of repeat business.

"We have recently diversified into integrated building management systems, sophisticated systems that control every aspect of the safety and comfort of buildings, from ventilation and temperature control to smoke control and security access.

"Offering integrated systems helps our clients reduce costs and resources, by streamlining supply chains. Increasingly the sector is seeking specialist suppliers with tried and tested capability and expertise to deliver these holistic solutions. With us, they can have confidence in our 17 years of experience in the trade and awards like this are a testament to our credentials."
